Mechanical Engineer

De Functie
An international company in the Netherlands, they are looking for a mechanical engineer which shall be responsible, inter alia, for the following:
- Quality control of maintenance performed by the contractor in charge of the General Maintenance of the site and especially of the operation of the production plans (chilled cooling/hot water).
- Quality control of the work performed on site by the various contractors: actively. controlling the mechanical installation Works to be performed on site by contractors and keeping administration on progress and possible problems.
- Quality control of mechanical installations (existing ort new).
- Reviewing and preparing maintenance procedures and stipulations.
- Asses performance of the maintenance contractor with regards to the requirements of the maintenance contract.
- Assesment of the activities of contractors in regards to the ESA safety rules and regulations, and verifying workers are performing tasks with the proper safety measures and proper safety papers and permits in place.
- Follow up of the corrective actions.
- Building automation systems.
- Manage projects from inception till the project close-out, including commissioning.
- Prepare and establish work descriptions, project budgetary & time planning estimates.
- Establish and keep up-to-date corresponding Project Plans.
- Prepare, organise and lead meetings as required by Management or due to project activities.
- Liaise with local authorities when necessary.
- Report to the Head of Section.
Assistance to multi-disciplinary Projects (comprising civil, mechanical and electrical activities): the Mechanical Engineer will provide support:
- Coordinating the actions & tasks within the mechanical domain.
- Organising and leading (when required) coordination meetings between the team members and/or Project Board meetings.
- For communication & information matters linked to the projects activities.
- Commissioning of the poject.
Mechanical Projects & Quality Control:
- Implementation and maintenance of up-to-date project plan procedures, project management & coordination procedures, quality management system procedures.
- Control & execution (schedule, costing & quality of the Works).
- Review and evaluation of the offers received from contractors.
Applications for this post should have an university degree or equivalent quelification in mechanical engineering and substantial experience in building infrastructure or facility mangement. A proven capability in the mangement of prjects is required. Knowledge and experience of Siemens and Priva Building Automation Systems would be an advantage.
Applicants are required to have hands-on technical and procedural thinking skills, accompanied by an ability to work autonomously as well as within a team. Skills in water treatment will alsobe advantageous.
The working languages of the Agency are English and a good knowledge of this language is required. Knowledge of another Agency language would be an asset.
